Was part of the core team that developed and produced Playhouse for Daft.ie’s co-founder, Brian Fallon in 2009. Playhouse was a public art project that transformed Dublin’s Liberty Hall into a giant 11 storey full colour video display. The projected consisted of custom made LED strips and other hardware and an entire custom software stack that enabled members of the public to create and submit images and animations. These submissions went through an approval process and were then placed into a queue that automated the scheduling and display of the animations on the building. The animations were also synchronised with Dublin City FM.
Some day I’ll have time to write about this project properly, but the two videos below do a decent job of explaining it.
